RED AND BLACK NEW YEAR'S EVE FIESTA! By popular demand, we ARE going to
have a
New Year's Eve party at our
clubhouse. But guess what, we are not going to take advantage of
this most important and fun party
night of the year! Nope, unlike every other place in town, we ARE
NOT going to charge you frickin'
$20 or so just to get past our front door in order to
have a few drinks, and have some
fun. We ARE NOT going to jack up any prices just because it
is New Year's Eve! We ARE going
to insure that you get home safely, which allows you to party
like crazy and not worry about
the numerous cop roadblocks (ooops, sobriety checkpoints) that will
be set up all over town. We are
checking to see if the Ramada will give us our $50 per nite (includes
taxes and a breakfast) for this
nite. This would be great for any out-of-towners.
We are going to have a Mexican
buffet type of chow line also. Taquitos, tamales, rice, beans, and
whatever else we can get our ol'
ladies to cook up! Cooked by some real Mexicans....lol !!
So.....sounds like a pretty good
deal! You get to party cheaper, don't have to worry about getting home,
will have some damned good food
there for you, you won't get raped on "refreshment" prices, and like
I always say, your support of us
goes to our club charities...NOT TO THE POCKET OF OUR
BROTHERS! By coming out and
partying with us, you are supporting the causes of our club and having
a great time doing it! Check back
for more updates. I might have for auction another Bob Stoops
autographed football, personalized
to the winner....and maybe signed by coach Stoops with the
winner present!!!!!! I don't
know yet.....but I am working my "contact" on this one!

Well, the SOA Watch Party was a great success! It was good to see alot of
our friends and supporters come
out and, once again, support our charitable causes. Freedom Hill, our
clubhouse, is a perfect place to socialize
with friends, family, and especially brothers! Yet again, our clubhouse
was full this night and it is so greatly
appreciated.
This year has been an eventful year for the two chapters (D/Q) which are
sponsors of this site. You would
have to be a part of the organization to fully appreciate all the things we have
accomplished are in the
process of accomplishing.
NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY? Several have asked if we are having one yet.
We don't know yet. But if we
do decide to host one, we WILL NOT jack up prices and charge a cover charge like
every other place in
town always does. So, stay tuned!

to do it again next year!

Today, Chief Warrant Officer Donald Wann
was laid to rest at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. By now, I am sure
that all knows the story of him being shot down in Vietnam in 1971 and
finally, 39 years later, being given the
homecoming he deserves! Please check out the pics posted under
the photo link and check out the video link
below, it kind of says it all! Stand down, Sir, your mission is
complete !!!

FUNERAL PROCESSION
There were a tad bit over 400 motorcycles and riders
at the services to show respect !!! I can't say how wonderful
it makes me feel to have participated in this welcome home! Seeing
over 400 motorcycles that came out
on such a miserably hot day as well as ordinary folk standing outside their
homes and businesses showing
respect was truly a patriotic experience, as well it
should be! Also, students were lining the road on the road to the
cemetery; a Red and Black "thank you" goes out to them as well!
I feel very proud to be an American because I
know we don't leave our fallen behind, we get them back, even if it takes 39
years to do so! This soldier was never
forgotten and today proved it! Again, I am proud to be an American
AND, pretty damned to be an Oklahoman also!
THE ARTICLE BELOW WAS WRITTEN BY BRO' D-BEAR (CHAPTER D)
Saturday August 21st 2010 started early for the Brothers in the Oklahoma City AO. A very righteous mission was being conducted that day. With the kickstands up and Brothers from Chapters D, M, and Q rolling out of Chapter D’s Club House at 0630, these Brothers , Prospects and Hang Arounds were on the move for 140 miles to welcome home CWO2 Donald Wann to Muskogee, OK.
On 1 June 1971, a multi-aircraft force extracted a Ranger team from a landing zone in western Quang Tri Province, about 5 miles east of the Lao/SVN border. After the team had been extracted, one of the escorting AH-1G gunships was tasked to destroy munitions that had been left on the ground.
The Cobra rolled in from about 1500 feet, descending to about 40 feet as it approached the firing point. Just before weapons release, the aircraft was hit in the underside by enemy fire. Escaping fuel caught fire and the aircraft nosed up, gaining perhaps 150 feet before descending in a vertical right turn to ground impact. The AH-1 hit on a steep slope, skidded downhill for about 100 feet, and burned.
Radio calls made in the few seconds between the time the Cobra was hit and ground impact were not answered, and the crash itself was not survivable. The two crewmen of AH-1G tail number 68-15002 were declared killed in action; their bodies could not be recovered.
CWO2 Wann left behind a wife and 2 daughters. One of those daughters now lives in Yukon, OK. Shannon Wann Plaster has be a leading advocate for the POW MIA rights in Oklahoma. Chapter D has been in contact with her so that they could “adopt” CWO2 Wann as their MIA. Oklahoma Chapters adopt an individual MIA to keep in contact with their family until they are returned home. Chapter D got a teddy bear dressed in a flight suit and carried it with them from run to run to help educate the public about this issue. Upon finding out the date of Wann’s homecoming the Brothers were going to make sure that they would be there to welcome him home.
As the day progressed the temperatures topped 105 degrees with a heat index well over 110. 421 bikes were in the procession. Nearly 50 brothers from both Oklahoma and Arkansas led the way. The Youtube videos shows over 10 minutes of just bikes rolling in the procession. As we made it from the church to the Ft. Gibson National Cemetary the heat was beginning to take its toll on man and machine. Brothers were truly keeping their other brothers in mind. Prospects and Brothers alike made sure that everyone had liquids and no one went down with heat sickness. At the cemetery after the service every Brother went to the family and extended their heart felt condolences. I was truly moved by their sadness and yet relief that this hero was finally home.
While the Red & Black made their way back to the bikes and mounted up for the rides home it was truly an incredible mission. The ride back for the OKC Brothers was one of reflection on this hero’s journey home. No matter how hot we were or close to heat sickness we became, we all knew CW02 Wann made us that much stronger. He rode with us that hot and miserable day. We welcome you home Brother.

We really don't know why the Hawg Lakes Rally management has made the decision
to not allow motorcycle
club (MC) members into their event. The way I see it (and it has
been upheld in several federally- filed class action lawsuits)
that what we have here is the constitutional rights of motorcycle club members,
regardless of what club, being
potentially violated. The constitution guarantees freedom of
expression....period!
Bottom line, I hope that those who plan on
attending this rally will BOYCOTT it based on this rally's apparent
anti-club, mentality. If between now and the rally dates I
receive information that ALL people are allowed to this
public event, regardless of whatever club they may belong to, I will take
this posting down. Many of the brothers in this
club have fought in far away lands to "protect and defend " our
constitution.....to that end, our mission continues with
this issue!
If you click HERE, you
will see a copy of their rally flyer. At the bottom of the flyer, you will
see where they specifically say
no "colors"! As Veterans, we feel disrespected by Hawg Lakes organizers!
Many in this club have looked death in
the eye in foreign lands to protect and defend our "constitution"!
They are going to turn me away because of patch on
my back......to hell with them! Again, I ask you, DO NOT ATTEND THIS
RALLY! The organizers do not deserve
to receive one cent from the motorcycling community.......club associated or
not! Please check out this link also for some
more info and to see how the biker community is getting behind this boycott
call!!

Well, the fundraiser ended and was quite successful!
Between over $1300 received in online donations from all over
the country (and one from Germany), and and additional $170 in pledges
from a couple of brothers and my chapter,
over $1500 was raised for Brother Sonny and his efforts to recover from the
house fire that cost him everythingl
As the saying goes, "I am my brother's keeper" ! You have proven that with
more than just words...you
have proven it with your wallet's as well! That is what the Red and
Black world is all about! In all honesty, I only
thought I may get a couple hundred bucks from my lil' online donation
idea.....guess I was way wrong (in a good
way)! Too all the brothers who donated....LRB! To the three
civilians that donated, a special thanks for
supporting our brother Sonny and supporting your local Red and Black!

I am absolutely amazed at the fundraising effort for Brother Sonny so far.
I have raised right at $700 so far via the
online donation process. When I first started it last Tuesday, I
wasn't even sure if the electronic donation process
would work like it was supposed to! Well, it has!!!!
I am going to close this down on the evening of 6 July. You have 3
days yet to help out this brother who lost
everything in his house fire! I mean EVERYTHING. Basically, what
he has left is his club colors, VA papers, and
his pickup! That's it!
I would like to thank everyone who has helped! But, we still need
more! $700 is great, but another $700 would be
even better! So, if you are reading this and haven't donated and
are in a position to where you can send a bit the
brother's way, hit the back button, go back to the front page, click
the donate button and do what you can do!
To EVERYONE who has donated, including the once Civilian (Mollie),
thank you SO VERY MUCH

Thanks so much to all those who
came out and supported our cause on
our "first annual" Veteran's Casino Poker Run" It was a perfect day
for
a ride and even a better day to come out and help out veterans whom
reside at the Norman Veteran's Center. Also, thanks to all our sponsors!
There will soon be links on this website to all our great sponsors

We all know that there are many
brave men and women deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan
who are doing brave, heroic things daily. I wish to take a moment and give
a Red and Black
shout-out to one in particular. For OPSEC purposes, I will not mention his
name, but I will
say his father is Brother Ol' Corps of Chapter D. This young man, an Army
soldier assigned
to a unit in Iraq, recently received the Bronze Star with a Valor device for his
actions in
combat on Easter Day!!!! Yes, he survived the incident and is OK.
I am being intentionally vague
for OPSEC reasons (wish I could give more details). As is our
Brother Ol' Corps, we are
extremely proud of this young man and those like him who keep us free!

Great
news, Navy Seal Matthew McCabe ACQUITTED of all charges surrounding
his "alleged" mistreatment of an Iraqi prisoner! He is one of
3 Seals who were
charged, and his acquittal today marked a complete ass-kicking of the
prosecution;
all three were acquitted of ALL charges! Take that...DOD !!!!
As a new feature on the calendar, I am going to start listing funerals of
servicemen and
women. Info will come from our friends at the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR).
I will begin
with a funeral set for next Tuesday, 11 May! I will use Blue and Yellow on
these entries
(PGR colors).
Finally, this past Monday, we rode down to the funeral of a fallen brother,
Big Daddy
Gordo from the Texas crew. It goes without saying this was a sad
affair and we will
will ALWAYS remember this wonderful brother. GFVD
RIP BROTHER! Here is a link
from a local news outlet covering his funeral: copy and paste in your

No matter how good an outdoor
event plan is, the one thing that cannot be controlled is
the weather. 'Twas the case this past Saturday when our 1st Annual
Veterans Casino poker
run was rained out! But, a makeup date will be announced soon. We
would like give a BIG
THANKS to area casinos who volunteered to use them as a stop. The Lucky
Star (El Reno),
Riverwind (Norman), and Thunderbird (Little Axe) had all agreed to support us
and
provide some "giveaways" to support our Veteran's cause.
Additionally, other businesses
have donated items to us as door prizes and raffle items. Their info will
appear soon. Please
go out and give our supporters your business as a way for their support for
Veterans.
A big RED N BLACK thank you to all our supporters!
On a different topic. I received a guestbook post from a lady in Ft. Worth
asking for people
to come out and show support for a disabled vet who was beaten by someone in
Coalgate, OK.
I didn't really know how to approach this, but, felt at least I
could is put the news article here
about the incident so that people can decide if they want to make a presence at
the trial.
Beating up a disabled Veteran....really a manly thing to do! I hope this
guy gets the max! Please
check out the article:
COALGATE,
OK - A man was arrested Thursday for assaulting a disabled man in Coal County.
Brian Rengals, 34, was arrested for felony assault and battery for his part in a
January incident that sent a disabled veteran to the hospital for nearly a week.
The alleged victim, 58-year-old Chris Laws, says two men came on horseback onto
his property in January. Laws says he asked them to leave then called police.
Laws says he was waiting in his truck for sheriff's deputies to arrive when one
of the men punched him several times and bit him.
Laws suffered a broken ocular bone, lost some vision in his left eye, and had a
heart attack. Rengals was arraigned Thursday and released on bond.

COALGATE OK--A Coal County Man attacked on his own property by trespassers is
speaking out, about how the attack has affected him and his family. 58
year old Chris Laws has had his fair share of hard times, a military career in
the Special Forces, cut short by an injury. It was one of those hard times that
brought Chris and his wife Ruth to Coal County. "She got cancer so we
moved closer to TMC and we looked and looked and finally found this place and it
was perfect," said Laws.
Hard times came to Chris Laws again in January, when he says two men on
horseback approached his home one Saturday evening in January. "They
stopped over here by my RV and I said you just need to turn back and go back the
way you came, and they just started cursing me," said Laws. Laws says he
called the Sheriff's office, and was waiting in his pickup at the end of his
driveway, when one of the men approached and attacked him. "He hit me
several times and he bit me right here," said Laws.
He suffered a broken ocular bone, a loss of vision in his left eye, and worse.
"The next morning I was having chest pains so they took me to the VA hospital
and I had a heart attack in the waiting room," said Laws. Laws spent 5
days in the hospital and has had to return for treatment many times since.
The man who allegedly attacked Laws was not arrested at the time, but a
statement released by the
District Attorney’s office says quote, "aggravated assault and battery is the
appropriate charge in the instance" and that the DA's office is hoping to file
felony charges against Law's attacker by the end of the week. While a
felony charge brings with it the potential for a prison sentence, Chris Laws
says he wants more than that. "We would like him to do community service
with disabled veterans groups, so he can understand,” said Laws.

July 2-4 will be very special days for us in this club.
Oklahoma's Vietnam Vets are being
honored this weekend in a 3-city event called "Operation Oklahoma".
There will be a
concert in Tulsa on the 2nd, an event in Bricktown (OKC) on the 3rd, and the
Dignity
Memorial Wall will be in Norman at the Veterans Memorial (Reeves Park) on July
4th (Sun).
The Dignity Memorial is a wonderful
"mock-up" of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in
Washington DC. There are currently 58.260 names on the wall.
Your local Red n Black
will be very involved in these festivities......WE WILL NEVER FORGET !!

Today at the clubhouse we
gave a Chapter Q brother a fitting sendoff for his year's military
deployment.
Since we don't like to discuss specific names of brothers here, suffice it
to say that we had a really fun
time telling memorable little stories about the brother, presenting
him with a VERY special photo of
himself (God, I wish I could post the photo), and presenting him some
hip-wading boots. This brother
is very special and unique in that he has provided us so many moments of
humor.....even if it was not
his intention to do so! This brother also has his own line of
biker-related clothing! Maybe in time, your
webmaster and all-around-good guy will offer up for auction some of our
brother's "unique" apparel here for
auction.....Who knows, we might could make .75 cents or so off some of his
"specialty" Tilt-Attire items.
Check out the photo gallery for some pics of the going away get-together. To our
brother.....hurry back. While away, don't forget to pick up some
female riding leather, a new passenger
seat (no lick em - stick em), etc. Hurry back home
brother.....who are we going to f-with while you are
gone? It is going to be a long year for us here without you.....but we
will somehow struggle through it!
In all seriousness........Brother......the brothers of Chapters D and Q as
well as all Red and Black in this
state want you to have a good, safe deployment. You are a brother's
brother!
